Iskorak is a civil society association founded in 2002 with the mission of promoting and protecting human rights of the citizens of the Republic of Croatia, especially the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals and advocating their participation in society as Croatian citizens with equal rights.

Association goals are:

  • Advocacy and improvement of public policies for the protection of the rights of sexual and gender minorities, as well as persons living with HIV/AIDS;
  • Improvement of health, and access to health and social services in order to improve the quality of life of sexual and gender minorities, as well as persons living with HIV/AIDS;
  • Development, improvement and advocacy of a sociocultural infrastructure in order to increase social inclusion of sexual and gender minorities, and persons living with HIV/AIDS, and achieve a more egalitarian participation in society for them;
  • Advocacy of social changes by integrating education, activism and research as well as contributing to the development of democratic and civil society, protection and promotion of human and civil rights and liberties.

The Association goals are realized through following activities: 

Development and stimulation of volunteering; Monitoring public policies and advocating legislative changes and the adjustment of implementation mechanisms with the goal of protecting and affirming the rights of socially threatened and vulnerable groups; Fighting discrimination and violence against sexual and gender minorities, as well as persons living with HIV/AIDS; Education of general and professional public, members and target groups on improvements and protection of human rights and health through extra-institutional models of education; Organization of workshops, seminars and lectures in accordance with the goals of the Association.

Subversive Front 

Subversive Front works on promoting critical non – patriarchal approach to gender and sexuality, on opening non –homophobic debate on the rights of people who do not identify with the dominant heteronormative values, on strategies for creating a positive social and political environment for these people as well as organizing a queer and LGBTIQ community which will get motivated to take part in the campaign and fight for equal rights.

Subversive Front’s mission is to work on promoting of a more critical, unconventional, non-patriarchal approach towards the identification to any existing category in the area of gender and sexuality, and thus to work on recognition, introduction and promotion of the rights and status of people with differences that do not identify with the dominant heteronormative categories in Macedonia, as well as their protection and support by creating strong political movement in Macedonia that would work to create a favorable and acceptable climate for the people with a different approach to gender and sexuality.

Subversive Front’s strategic goals and main activities include: promotion of a critical, creative, queer,non-patriarchal approach to gender and sexuality through a variety of public,educational, institutional actions and debates that will aim to offer the individual a bigger space for identification or non-identification in terms of gender and sexuality, working on policies and strategies to create a favorable social and political climate for recognition of the rights and status of people who do not identify with the patriarchal and heteronormative approaches to gender and sexuality.

Our five strategic fields are: advocacy for LGBTIQ rights, research and policies on LGBTIQ, training and education on gender and sexuality, services of free psycho-social and legal aid for LGBTIQ,and fundraising for LGBTIQ projects and initiatives.

LGBT Forum Progres is a non-profit organization that gathers LGBTIQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer) people in Montenegro and it stands for respect and protection of their human rights and equality in society.

Vision: Montenegro as a democratic society with accepted, visible and protected LGBTIQ community

Mission of  LGBT Forum „Progress“ is creating safe, inclusive, and stimulative surrounding for all LGBTIQ persons providing education possibilities, building community, public advocacy,political participation and increasing approach to different kind of services that quality to life and health.

Aims:

  • Gathering LGBTIQ community and public advocacy of their rights and interests;
  • Improving support and solidarity among LGBTIQ persons;
  • Strengthening overall capacities of LGBTIQ persons and their position in society, economy, labor market, sport and education

Activities:

  • Organizing counseling and other forms of legal, psychosocial and educational support to LGBTIQ people,
  • Organizing conferences, symposia, seminars, workshops, presentations and lectures on LGBTIQ rights and appropriate education and training;
  • Launch of specific training modules on LGBTIQ  rights;
  • Preparing, writing and presentation of reports on human rights of LGBTIQ people in the country;
  • Initiating and monitoring legislative initiatives relevant to the rights of LGBTIQ people;
  • Organization and projection of film festivals, literary events and manifestations, exhibitions, plays, fairs, various concerts;
  • Organizing the Pride Parade, marking Human Rights Day and other festivals and public events and manifestations;

Sarajevski Otvoreni Centar/Sarajevo Open Centre (SOC) advocates the full respect of human rights and social inclusion of lesbian,gay, bisexual, trans* and intersex (LGBTI) people and women.Sarajevo Open Centre is an independent feminist civil society organization that strives to empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* and intersex (LGBTI) people and women through community empowerment and activist movement building. SOC also promotes the human rights of LGBTI people and women publically and advocates on national, European and international level for improved legislation and policies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By working on European integration issues,SOC is improving human rights in general and encouraging further the development of civil society.

SOC’s activities are created based on our Strategic plan 2014-2017 http://soc.ba/en/about-us/ with the overall objective: To improve the human rights situation of LGBTI people and women in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This objective is to be reached through outcomes:

Outcome 1: LGBTI people are socially and legally empowered

Outcome 2: BiH authorities have increased responsiveness to guarantee human rights of LGBTI people and women

Outcome 3: LGBTI and women’s rights are mainstreamed

At the moment, SOC has 12 employees and 4 volunteers.

Colegas is a non-profit organization that unifies different organizations working for the equality of LGBT people in different parts of Spain.

The objectives of the organization are to promote the free development of individuals in tune with their sexual orientation and gender identity,removing any social obstacle of discrimination against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.

Provide a channel to coordinate, study and guide policy of equality,social change and education in respect to sexual and emotional diversity, and diversity of family.

Promote values of respect for diversity of sexual orientation and gender identity and awareness of the social reality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people through culture and media.

Structuring and promotion of LGBT associations, ensuring the necessary coverage for the development of the movement for equality for lesbian, gay,bisexual and transgender people in rural areas.

Promote the visibility of lesbian women and their participation in the LGBT movement and awareness of the situation of women in society as a whole.

Raising awareness of healthy lifestyles and prevention work specifically against HIV-AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.

Contribute to the improvement of environmental quality, promoting sustainable development and building spaces for living together in integrating cities.
